Today I have come to the sad realisation that I most probably will not complete NaNoWriMo. Between my new full-time job my flying home to New Zealand in 6 days (my dad changed the date), only just having finished the Sound of Music last weekend and my mother never letting me touch the computer (and no, ‘never’ is not an exaggeration), I have just had no time to write a sizable portion of my novel.
Now, I’m not saying that I’m giving up – the opposite in fact. I have no delusions about writing 50,000 words before the end of November though. Haha. What I’m planning to do, is not have this NaNo as my goal, but to create an entirely new one. I still plan on writing out this novel and I’m still going to be following the basic idea of NaNoWriMo… just minus the timeline. I’m going to aim to get the story out and written down while not worrying about editing it until I’ve finished. I’m also going to still upload chapters and/or bits and pieces as I go along to my NaNo blog site.
I realise now that I will not get the chance to finish this until the start of next year before uni starts. If even then. Yeesh! When did my life become so hectic? I’ve spent almost this entire year doing absolutely nothing but spending my days on the computer and attempting to find a job. Then all in a rush I was cast in the Sound of Music, I was offered a job, I’m flying home to NZ in 5 days and now I barely even get to look at the computer!
Anyways. I’m going to attempt to finish at least one chapter of this novel tonight. Maybe. We’ll see. And if I succeed, I’ll upload it. I know it won’t be perfect or even close to as good as I want it to be for my readers, but because I promised, I will be uploading it. 😀 So, I shall get to it. (:
